The religions of the world are often made of simple systems that claim to have answers. A system similar to that of Bildad. But this system lacks grace, redemptive suffering and so it would lack the redemptive suffering of Christ on the cross for our sins.
The book of Job can be easily misread as a manual for suffering. We can falsely turn to Job as the hero of the story. Though Job does point forward to our ultimate hero who comes in the flesh, the story of Job is first and foremost about God’s faithfulness to his people and how he has a chosen seed who will defeat the enemy. Let us consider who this righteous man is.
