The Righteous Man (Job 1.1-5)

Speaker: Derrick Leitão
Series: Job
Sermon Info:

The book of Job can be easily misread as a manual for suffering. We can falsely turn to Job as the hero of the story. Though Job does point forward to our ultimate hero who comes in the flesh, the story of Job is first and foremost about God’s faithfulness to his people and how he has a chosen seed who will defeat the enemy. Let us consider who this righteous man is.

A Complete(d) Fellowship (Phil. 1.1-6)

Speaker: Derrick Leitão
Series: Mark
Sermon Info:
Due to weather cancellation, this is our “snowed-in” service. It is a shortened version of our worship service. Today, I am stepping away from the gospel of Mark for this week to consider the message of Paul in his ‘love letter’ to the Philippians. Here we will see the true message of Philippians and our duties as Christians belonging to churches where the gospel is faithfully preached.

The Man of Sorrows (Mark 14.32-52)

Speaker: Derrick Leitão
Series: Mark
Sermon Info:
Isaiah 53.3-5 speaks of our Lord Jesus Christ, ‘He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.’
